Karamabad - Pakistan
Since 3 days i'm in Karamabad. Karamabad lies in the north of Pakistan only 6 hours driving from China along the karakoram Highway. The karakoram highway is a way that starts just above Islamabad and ends in China. It is called a high way because it runs trough one of the highest the mountain range in the world. So the highway is not a 4 lane road but more like a bumpy country road. The journey from Rawalpindi to Karamabad took 25 hours by bus incl. 3 flat tires (it is only 685 km).
I arrived late in the evening in Karamabad. Jahoon and I shared a very nice clean room in Old hunza Inn and we had dinner in the old hunza inn for only 1 us dollar. The next day we saw how luckey we are with the room because from our room we look out on a few very high mountains. Like very high mountains somewere between 7000 and 8000 meter those mountains are coverd with snow.
The water used in for the toilet and for the shower comes directly from the mountains and are bit muddy.
Karamabad is for me a relaxing place before I go to India. Most of the time I sleep, eat some walnut cake, read (A short story of nearly everything from Bill Bryson) have little walk, talk to some other travelers, listen to some music (korean / english) on the second day ryuta (Japanese)turned up. Tomorrow I go back to Rawalipindi and depending on th e time of arrivel in Rawalpindi I will go straight to Lahore.
