Tiruvannamalai

On the 21 of September we left Pondycherry and we took a afternoon bus to Tiruvannamalai. After a about 3 hours we arrived in Tiruvannamalai. Tiruvannamalai is famous for his Siva Temple and the many ashrams one of them is the Ramana Maharashi Ashram. We checked in at a  hotel close to the ARULMIGU ARUNACHALESWARAR TEMPLE. The surrounding of the temple is buzzeling with many people, sadus, salespeople etc. We eat at Hotel Ganesh and do walk around the place, for the evening we have some Old Monk rum and a beer.
The next day we had breakfast with an masala dosa. Waauuw these masala dosa are just to hot to eat, way to hot...it is like burn, burn, burn like ring of fire. After this my stomache went off line again. But after some tablets of Imodium we went on to the Ramana Maharsi Ashram. The ashram lies about 2,5 km outside of the main town. This place is a very nice and quite place, a perfect place to meditate. After a few hours at the ashram we moved to a small restaurant for a pineapple juice and more relaxing etc. The restaurant owner told us that there are few places to stay close to the Ashram. We had a look at one of the places and we decided to stay there for the next two days. We took an autoriksja back to town packed our stuff and went back to our new place close to the Ramana Maharashi ashram and overlooking some fields. In the evening we watch a movie at Mama cafe. The movies is called Baraka, an amazing movie.

The next view days are quite the same relaxing, walk around have some food at Mama cafe or at Sunshine cafe. One late afternoon (22 september) we went to the ARULMIGU ARUNACHALESWARAR TEMPLE  it is a huge structure. With bells, walls, devotees etc.. An amazing complex. After this little outing we went back to our place and had some food at Sunshine cafe.

On the 23 of September we moved back to Chennai. The bus ride was easy but loud, loud because of the very, very hard Indian music they played in the bus. We got off the bus with a slight headache and we moved to Broadlands lodge for the night. Broadlands is a fine place to stay. In the guesthouse we met Rik and Marieke they were still playing as extra in different movies. In the evening Bouke and I went to Mocha this is a cool hangout place for the Chennai Youth. In this place you have yummie food (chocolate deserts ), coffees, chocolate truffle, lava lava and great waterpipes we had an Orange mint taste.. It is really nice to smoke a waterpipe. It is place to hang around for hours as we did.

The next morning we had our last Iddlies and we lunched at the Tai Connemara (one of Bouke presents). For the first time in a long time I had Salmon salad with proper green leaves yummie. For dinner we went to Comfort hotel which nearly next to Broadlands.  Thanks Bouke. Thanks for the Drop. It is still not finished. In the early morning of the 25 September Bouke flew back to Amsterdam and I? I stayed one more nights in Chennai. On the 26 of September I went back to Tiruvannamalai and i'm still in this nice little place.
