Visa run to Penang Malesia

This afternoon I arrived in Penang. Yesterday evening I took the 5 pm Ferry from Koh phanag to Surratani. It was good to take the government ferry, it is a big boat and the waves were up to 2 meters height. A lot of backpackers take Songserm ferry very cheap but a bit dangers because they tend to overload the boat and these boats are very small. Thai people are not allowed to take the Songserm ferry. 

 

At the  train station I bought a second class sleeper ticket to Butterswort (only 920 bht). The train was very comfortable ac and I I slept on a proper bed. There was a cheaper option by taking a mini van/bus but that is only 100 baht cheaper.   

 

In Buttersworth I walked to the Ferry less that took then 3 minutes and the Ferry took me directly in the heart Penang close to little India. After I had a look at number of very grotty guesthouse but still expensive. I decided to have a look at Maria (I know her from www.Agamayoga.com )  recommendation. This was the best option new clean, AC   and free Internet 280 baht a night.  

 

This trip to Penang feels as a Holiday from the Yoga. I have stayed at Ko Phagan since the end of February.

 

Tomorrow I will search for a Sony ebook reader and do a bit of sightseeing.
